I visited this afternoon a machine gun pill box overlooking Ebridge Mill near North Walsham, Norfolk and thought the photos might be of interest. This pill box dates from WW2 but two round WW1 boxes straddle the road nearby. The River Ant down in the valley was to be a defensive line in both wars and the whole areas is still littered with boxes. I wanted to see if the box was designed for Vickers guns to be able to fire indirectly from, so took a directional dial to see if it fitted the mounting, this it did slotting onto the metal tube nicely. There is also a locking handle on the tube mounting as well. I intend to measure the box properly and mount a gun in place.
