Hi Richard. I am currently making a 1/35th scale model of an LRDG Chevrolet truck, working in conjunction with the LRDG Preservation Society, in order to make as accurate a model as possible. One of the many options is mounting a Vickers .5 HMG on a pedestal in the cargo area, as used in the Barce Raid in 1942. However there is only one known photo of a truck with a .5 Vickers mounted, and very little information or plans of the gun. I've looked at your website and you clearly have a wealth of information about the Vickers 0.5 HMG MKV, and if possible I would like to get more information about the gun. I have got conflicting information about it's length from 48" to 54"s. I presume the longer length includes the flash hider fitted to some guns. What I need to make the gun is more detailed photo's and dimensions. With these I can scale different features. I would also like dimensions of the metal ammunition boxes and any information about mounts and how the LRDG could have mounted the gun to a pedestal mount. I can't see any pin holes for a cradle, so was it mounted by it's dovetail mount, or would they have fabricated an adapter for the dovetail to allow a cradle pin to be used? Any help would be much appreciated.
Charlie
PS. I tried downloading your manuals but have had no success.
