Good morning Gents, I am Dave Cooper living over the pond in Staffordshire, England and as you know we have some of the toughest gun laws in the world, and there is absolutely NO WAY we can own "live" machine guns here in the UK. I already have a deactivated 1918 dated Vickers and 1916 dated Lewis MGs, but am looking for a .303 Hotchkiss Portative as would have armed the Staffordshire Yeomanry cavalry during the Great War 1914-18. I can see several "live" versions available in the USA that I could buy, though there is the problem of importing to the UK and getting it deactivated to UK legal requirements. I have several dealer organisation friends here in the UK who could get the said Hotchkiss deactivated on my behalf to UK standards. Is this a practical proposition ... ? dave.r.cooper@btinternet.com

Dave
It's unlikely that our American friends would be happy to export something that's already in the US as it is becoming increasingly difficult to get stuff to them in the first instance. However, I would suggest you contact any of the sellers direct, possibly through a dealer with an import licence as I think it will be down to their personal preference as to whether they wish to.
Richard
