My Browning MKII* found in corsica

Hello,

I've found in corsica there is some years this British MG.
I've send this to deactivation bench in France.

They come from sea ... with 3 others .303 MG by a fisherman after scond world war

When i buy this it was in this shape :


With time ... and oil ! the situation changed

























It missing some litle parts ... i search to complete this Mg.

I look about theses litle parts ...


For doing this complete MG


And i've got a problem with this part

I think it missing some litle parts because this part was not fixed on the gun.



Could you help me with my gun ?

Hi Fabien

A nice find! The part in the last photo is the solenoid firing device, The small tube on the side is for the wire that goes to the gunners firing button. You will notice that there is an angled face on the small lug on the right which fits into the body of the gun. What is missing is a bolt with a similarly angled head which locks into the body on the left side, and the bolt goes through the hole and is retained by a nut. When the firing button is pressed the solenoid pushes a small cam against the sear in the side of the breech block which releases the firing pin. As long as the firing button is held down, the firing pin will be released every time the breech closes. Spare parts for these guns are very hard to find.

I just make 3 other litle parts missing for mounting the lateral devices for ammo and links.

They are not perfect ... but when they are in position, they look to be perfect !

I've thèses litle parts with this MG, do you know who there come from ?

Are there from this gun ?
