Hi All,
Found your site whilst trying to identify my Ammunition Box. It was on my Uncles estate and found during clearing. I am in the UK by the way. From what I have seen it looks like a Maxim box, no idea what type. Its in pretty good condition overall. Has a split on one side but still very solid. Leather handle is also sound. It has some very faint markings below the brass runner affairs on the base, looks like C.G then poss 1905. Certain of the 05 but the rest very faint as mentioned. Hinges and brasswork all excellent. Very dusty as been in the wood shed for years. My great uncle served with the Royal Artillery during WW1, unsure if it may have been his. I do have my other great Uncles .30 cal Box that he certainly brought back from WW2. Its possible the one I wish to sell was brought back.
I am unsure how to add photos here, so if you would care to drop me a PM I will give you my Email Address ect so I can send some pics over to you. The strap goes from the top right the way down the side. I have not seen another box like it. Woodsy had a very similar box pictured recently on here but his has a strap around the side. The box itself is identical. I am open to serious offers please.
