I have been told that the only difference in Vickers locks for the .303, 8mm, 7.62 Nato and 7.62 Russian is the extractor. All other parts of the lock are the same. Can anyone confirm this? If true, where do I get the different extractors? Need an 8mm one which I am told works for both 8mm and 7.62 Nato. I already have a spare .303 lock which I want to convert to 8mm.

I can't speak for the 8mm lock but can confirm that the SA made 7.62x51 conversion used old .303" locks with just the extractor assembly replaced with new-made ones. The gib is also different of course.
I am sure I have seen the 8mm locks and/or extractors advertised at IMA or SARCO.

Thanks Peter!
Sarco advertises the 8mm lock but does not have any. IMA has a few 8mm parts but no locks last time I looked. I did get an 8mm feed tray from IMA this past week and it was in very good condition!
Sarco has some 8mm barrels but the ones I got were in poor shape (although advertised as very good condition).

I would love to be able to help you with 7.62mm parts but have no spares at all. Sorry
