Vickers mounting Fairey Battle.

I wondering If anyone could help me with this. I`m starting a 3d computer modelling project of the fairey Battle. I have a general arrangement of the gun installation in the rear of the aircraft. The Gun is housed in a cone when not in use and the cone is rotated to cover the aperture the gun folds into.

What isn`t clear from the diagram is if the the mount for the gun is attatched to the cone and if the gun rotates with the cone when not in use (essentially sitting upside down when not in use) or if the cone rotates "around" the folded down gun.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I am unsure how to answer your question but just for clarity of others, and perhaps yourself, the Vickers concerned was the Vickers GO No. 1 Mk. 1 (Vickers 'K').

Have a look at the various photos that are at www.iwmcollections.org.uk as they may shed some light on what you need or help further.
