Hi, can anybody tell me what this box might have been for ?
it's marked "MG INSTRUMENTS MK3"

The MG instruments box carried various things for the Platoon Commander and the Section Commander.

The Platoon Commander's box contained:

• Cases, Batteries and Bulbs (2)
  
• Bulbs (2)
  
• Batteries (2)
  
• Director, in case
  
• Plotter, M.G.
  
• Protractor resector, in case
  
• Screw clamp, checking traverse
  
• Lamps, electric (2)
  

While the Section Commander's box contained:

• Cases, batteries and bulbs (2)
  
• Batteries (2)
  
• Bulbs (2)
  
• Pins, crosshead, joint (2)
  
• Chains (2)
  
• Pins, elevating (2)
  
• Chains (2)
  
• Lamps, electric, No. 1 (2)
  
• Night firing pegs, in case
  

I hope this is of use. This is one of the things missing from my collection and if selling, I would be interested.
