What is the right sort of money for one of the airborne type of slips, as pictured in the post by Tom?
I know of one advertised for 175 Euro (around £120) plus shipping.

Guys; I collect MECo webbing and this is really hard to come by as I have asked TONS of people about them since Toms post in December. No one I know has even seen one in our area, I also want it to go with my 1938 Bren when we have it on display in the AA role. Yes I didn't expect to have a fight for it really, I would love to know who the other interested bidders were who came out of the woodwork in the last stages....grrrr. The least they could do is buy me a drink! Matt

Oh-my-god!
The interesting thing is its mint, which sort of implies that lurking out there somewhere is the rest of the bale...
By the way Kev I've moved home and changed my name...;-{D)

privatefjordy , only the Dutchmen have them now so get one of each pattern if they still have both types ! IMA held all the stocks before they got shipped to Holland where they were selling for about £40 The last AA / packsadlery cover I bought cost £14 ;D last one a mate bought for £20 at Stoneleigh.I expect they wil be flooding the market now with every man and his dog thinking they will be making a Kings ransom . Just hope as that one was mint there is a bloody great bale of them waiting to hit the streets !

Thanks Kev, the airborne slip is being offered by a Dutch dealer.
I've looked back in my records and see that the AA / Pack cover I sold went for £22 on eBay. That was mint, and I sold it only last May.
It went to a man called Bartlett. Member of this forum?
At the time I had no use for it and didn't know much about it at all.

Thats OK then, I had set out to bury it out back in one of those plastic cache drum thingies but the brambles were too thick to penetrate the interior... ;-{D)
Nah, theres only bales of stuff after I've paid through the nose for one.
Matt, don't be suprised if it doesn't fit when it arrives, there was a shrinkage problem with them but with a bit of patience they can be stretched back to size.

Anyone want a 1937 Bren by the way I know someone who might be selling his, he is very wary of this new proposed law that will effectively make his collection worthless, and he has a hoard of Enfield rifles too. All his stuff is really old spec. He thinks that he might be able to find a museum to donate them to but then he will recieve very little. Do you think he should keep them as long as poss, how long would it be before the law came into force? Matt, Rather than prolong this excellent thread by boring law stuff, ask the question in a new thread and I will answer it to the best of my abilities (which is pretty good when it comes to two things - the Law and Vickers stuff). No worries Matt ;-{D)
I'm suffering too, especially as I'm maxing out on the common bits so I'm left with the bits that would bankrupt me or the bits so obscure that (a) no one else is looking for (Besa crap) so are dirt cheap and / or (b) they are driving me barmy looking for them (Besa crap) because no one bothered to keep any.
I hope you clean all the oil off the Bren before you put the cover on it.

Because if you DO have a spare drop container you know that it's Matt who really wants one and not Kev...ok! Sorry Kev ! Actually I don't know anyone with a drop container to sell but I believe the Border VERA guys [re-enactors] have some, I am in their Home Guard unit and since there was no HG paras, well, I don't need one desperately! Regards Matt PS Tom I am sure I heard of some obscure stuff [Besa %&£@] for sale, I will check in case it was a dodgy memory, it might have been a Vickers Berthier.

privatefjordy, I think thats WAY too expensive, so PM me the dealers details.... *wink* LOL, good luck if you do aquire it. These things should not be in foreign lands, they need to return to the home of the Bren! And before the wiseguys point it out, I mean the Enfiled, ok..? Not the Lithgow or JI Matt
