Due to the disadvantages of nopt being able to carry the filled Bren wallet in the Bren holdall described in M.G.O. Equipment Memoranda No.10, para. 12, a modified holdall is now in production which differs from the former in the following respects:-
(i) Pocket "B"
Enlarged to enable the Bren wallet to be carried filled.
(ii) Pocket "C"
To contain spare breech block if issued.
(iii) Pocket "D"

If the hold-all is not carried with the section then, according to the climate, the following changes must be made —
(a) In tropical or dusty climates the oil bottle containing the graphited grease must be taken from the hold-all and placed in the spare parts tin.
(b) In climates of extreme cold the oil can containing oil, low, cold test, must be carried in the wallet instead of oil “A,” which will be carried in the hold-all.

Not listed but carried would be pieces of 4” by 2” flannellette. Contents of wallet corroborated by packing lists in contemporay filled wallets. No fouling tool is listeddue to continued use of Mk I gas cylinder on Australian made guns and note continued issue of gas regulator cleaners which are absent from the 1948 and1955 UK manuals.
The use of the larger Can, oil, MG, Mk.1 would require a holdall with a bigger lower pocket than so far seen by the editor or its storage inside the main compartment of the bag]

[Also shown but not listed as holdall contents, but never the less often found in surviving original kits, Brush, cleaning, MG (Aust.), Mk1/1. Not listed but carried would be pieces of 4” by 2” flannellette. Contents of wallet corroborated by packing lists in contemporay filled wallets. No fouling tool is listeddue to continued use of Mk I gas cylinder on Australian made guns and note continued issue of gas regulator cleaners which are absent from the 1948 and1955 UK manuals.
The use of the larger Can, oil, MG, Mk.1 would require a holdall with a bigger lower pocket than so far seen by the editor or its storage inside the main compartment of the bag]
