If it moves weld it, if it doesn't move, get a bigger hammer.

Hi!, the last working modem at home as gone down other wise I would do it myself but could some one please send disco the Word version of the Bren Supplement from the Instructions for Armourers 1931 that the wife did? If you remove the jpg of the front cover and shrink the sheets of drawings it fits down the wire without too much trouble.
A normal service will be resumed asap!

The butt plate is removed by pressing down on the metal strap at the top front of the butt plate. This then exposes the recoil spring cap (the top one of the two visible). Push this in and rotate it 90 degrees CAREFULLY. This will release the spring and the entire assembly can be removed, and stored away. Replace the butt plate for display. I thought you Aussies had to have them welded up - or shouldn't I ask!

Rod,
He's the one doing the welding up!
Paul,
I can't change your age once you've signed up as it is not within the capability of being 'modified' but I have changed it so it is hidden from others.
Cheers,
Rich

Thanks fellas, I took the but plate off and the first spring thingo fell out, I thought it was meant to put pressure on the butt plate to stop it rattling, noticed the bit underneath. Didnt have time to fiddle with it as it was time to knock off. Looks like I was lucky I didn't end up with it through my head!!! Will sort it out next parade. Yes I am rendering the gun innocuous, using my power for the darkside, wife wonders why I cry in my sleep. Does my karma go down much when I kill a gun??? I'm told its a MK1D 1942, will confirm serial numbers and if you want post some photo's. Thanks for sorting out the age problem Paul Yes,
