I'm sure someone knows the answer to this.
If you take of the the gas regulator on a Mk3 and look between the gas port indicators (dots), you should see small engraved markings, any ideas to what they stand for ?
I'll try and get a picture of them.

It seams to vary, I've a couple of Regulator Gas Mk 4s here, ones a copper plated DP job with a groove machined out of the rim and that has a "Enfield mark", "MK.4" and "143" between the horns (one space blank) and another that has the "Enfield mark", a crude "IV" for the mark number between 2 of the horns and "Z" between the others, one stamped, one etched.
I can't get to the other six on guns, any one else care to share their markings?

Enfield mark is what's probably on it.

Mine are mostly III for mk3 and various manufacturers codes and acceptance marks. I've also got 2 types of mkIII regulators, a waisted type like the mkI and a boring simplified mkIII.
