I have a Historic Arms Bren MKII SA and for re-enactments I have been using 1960's manufactured Bren woodtips (stamped L1OZ). The other day a friend of mine gave me a couple of hundred rounds of woodtips in original packaging that states "Kynoch .303 Blank Cartridges Wooden Bullets For Use in Vickers M/C Guns". Because they state that they are made for a Vickers, does that mean that they would be unsafe to use in my Bren? I pulled the wood tip on one and the wood seems identical to that of the L1OZ Bren round. However, it seems like the propellants are different. So any information or advice that anyone can provide on the use and safety of this ammo would be appreciated.
