Hi all,
This is mainly for any fellow collectors down here in Oz.
I have had an update from a chap who is undertaking the new manufacture of all steel replica Bren Guns down here. The guns will be a composite of mainly new but also original Bren parts, such as rear sights, stocks, bi-pods and a few other pieces. They will also have some moving parts to make them more life like but unable to chamber or fire any ammunition, pure replicas.
They are making good progress and have worked out a method of manufacture but need some confirmed orders prior to the commencement of production due to the high costs involved of tooling / setting up e.t.c. So if any fellow Aussies are out there and interested in an all metal replica legal Bren at a real fraction of the cost of an original item down here then let us know.
Just drop me a line and I can forward contact details onto the maker. Oh and the guns will be to the Mk.1/M standard.
I would much prefer an original example but at the going prices these days of 6 to 10K here
it's a bit out of my league so these replicas may represent a much more viable option.
And to you overseas collectors look after all those original Lithgow Bren's you've got!
