Hello everyone long time no speak, just found a bit of a curious mag box,it is a Mk 1 box and is in rough condition, but the unusual thing is that only half of the box has slots for Mag's and there is a divider in the middle and the other side shows no signs of having ever had any mag slots in.the lid of the box has Burmese writing painted on,the only stampings on the box are a crows foot and what looks like a feint date stamp of 193.Kev i will email you a photo A.S.A.P

Hi Tom I think sheet one has been labeled incorectly(the file not the sheet), DDE 1805 is the standard mag box. The actual DDE on sheet 1 is 1825 and is the MKI version (1936) The 1939 MK2 box is DDE 2357. (you had better check on this Tom ) This will only be my second sighting of one of these if its correct Not sure if this whole thread should be deleted until I find one myself ;D !

The Straddle DDE's are exeptional, amazing that all the drawings are perfectly clear ! I only wish the seat was a bit more basic in design and I would have a go at it .......only problem is I'd have no where to put it

Yup, my typo! Now corrected. After the first 340 or so your mind kinda wanders ;-{D)
At least I sent the right pic.
I think the Straddles where redone post war. I hadn't realised they were still on issue into the 1960s until I started going through the VAOS.
Theres probably a warehouse full of them some where...
