I found this in the remains of a Bren Chest a couple of years back, thought I'd scan it in for anyone here who's interested. All the best, Paul

Hi Kev,
That scan is about full size if you want to do the right clicky save picture thing (12.5x17cm in real life). I've got a 300dpi bitmap of the scan which I'll tidy up a bit for you if you want.

Hmmm, that is interesting..... Also interesting is what, if anything, was wrong with the original Bren firing pin spring BE/8181? The Greek list shows it being replaced by BC/4228, whatever that may have been, Skennerton's SAIS for the Bren shows it as BG/4228, that for the 7.92mm Besa firing pin spring. Curiouser and curiouser......... Paul

The last dated IPL that shows the original firing pin spring BE 8181 is the 1942 Mk2 Bren parts list.
LoC B6311 dated June 1942 states - BESA firing pin spring BC4228 , extension for use on the Bren.
IPL's for the Bren after this e.g. 1944 identification parts list for MkI & Mk2 Bren show the firing pin as BC4228 with the remark - to be demanded as :- Besa 7.92mm.Springs.Pin.Firing
Seems the Besa spring was prefered for function over the original
