those are all very sexy brens! how did you all get your metal/wood work so nice and clean? Most of my stuff I try to restore. I also got some super mint wood from a certain fellow here on this website. ;D I love working with the stuff. It takes time but the outcome is by far worth the time and effort. If you want I can give all my secrets and you can restore one yourself www.pbase.com/mrclark/restoration_projects

What works best is OXPHOBLU. I have tried them all(unfortunetly) and its the only one that works. Every other brand I used eventually bled off over time. Ive had oxpho on my BAR and my 1919a4 and it looks as good as the day I applied it.

This is my bren. I'm undecided if I should restore or keep it as it is. I've only got two mags. From what I read on the forum one is a late type wrape around one marked M/78 with crows foot on the side and "E" on the top. The other is marked up "I" then a cross with four dots followed by JI on the top. With JI, 22, 20, 37, 45 on the right and JI and 12 on the left side. The bren is marked up MKI D 1943 AA4045. The barrel release handle is also marked AA4045. The Barrel is marked MKI* along with a crows foot an 43 and AA??61. I can't read it all. The bipod is marked up"R" on the body and JI on both legs and feet. It's been painted black at some stage but most of it has work back though now so I cant decide whats best for it.

very nice bren, I think I would keep it as is. Mine I needed to work on because they were in rough shape at first. Yours looks almost mint shape.
I would though get yourself a nice MKI stock to go with that MKI reciever. I 'd also try to find a MKI bipod assembly and that would be it.

As far as I know the stock is original, although I think at this stage I'm thinking I'd like to keep it all together unless I decide to embark on a full resto, although its not in too bad nick so I think I'll keep it as is, sorry! On the other side of the stock its got a white paint(?) marking of U41, some kind of armoury number or something?

NICE PICS KEEP EM COMING!!! Eric the wood on your sectionalised Bren looks great Mr Clark, oh you say the sweetest things. are you sure you haven't seen this before? as you recommended, i got some mint unused wood, and a few 'Birchwood Casy' products. it looks tidy, that's about all. the value probably fell through the floor as soon as i was let lose on it, do i care, NOPE! it was blued with another BC product, it's okay. what i wouldn't give for some OXPHO BLU by Brownells!, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen as they don't ship to the UK you could send me some right? GaRy:)
