I saw one of the IMA Drum adapter/supports the other week and they are far from a perfect repro. I have an origional to compare with....the repro has corners which are a bit sharp.
I also have one of the mag mandrels. I believe mine is ex-Canadian, and is a bit simpler than the one shown. I paid around the same price for my mandrel....only difference is my mandrel came with a dewat Bren, a spare barrel, a transit chest, the winding tool and drum support, and a military set of go/no go guages.
I have one of the Bren repro butt grips. I have no complaints with it. At about $250 cheaper than a real one, I can live with it. Collectors source has a JI marked one available right now, but it's too rich for my blood.

cmpman,I'm on the scrounge again for a photo, this time of your magazine mandrel.I presume it doesn't have the clamp/guide for filing the magazine spring slot ? (no necessity on Canadian mags)

(no necessity on Canadian mags) Here it is next to it's successor...the mag tool for the C2A1 LMG. The bren mag forming tool has a inspectors mark which is of the 50s Cdn style, indicating that this is post war produced.

Here it is next to it's successor...the mag tool for the C2A1 LMG. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I don't suppose you have another 30 round mag tool laying around or the 20 round mag tool? I've been looking for them for ages.

I have the 20 round tool kicking around the gunroom somewhere. Sorry, but no spares right now. It is important to note that the 30 round tool won't work on a 20 round mag body.....the grooves in the side of the mags were in completely different spots.
I'll keep an eye out for some. They do pop up from time to time.

Cheers ,very nice Also like the C2A1 mandrel ;D I have never seen a C2A1 mag in the 'flesh' so can anyone tell me if it is the same as the Aussie straight L4A4 30 rnd mag ? Have you ever seen a mandrel for the Aussie L4 mag Kevin ?

Have you ever seen a mandrel for the Aussie L4 mag Kevin ? I have a C2A1 (dewat) along with 4 extra mags in the Bra. Maybe I can snap a photo later, along with some of the other Cdn accessories. I'm looking for one of the (ex-cdn) auzzie top covers with the sight built in for the C2, in case anyone has one to spare.

Have you ever seen a mandrel for the Aussie L4 mag Kevin ? The straight 30 round magazines in Australian service are known as:- 1005-66-015-6322 MAGAZINE, cartridge, 7.62 mm, 30 round Often referred to as the "L2A1 Magazine" which is technically incorrect. Of course the curved magazine done by the Australian's are L4A1 mags for the Bren Guns. In Canadian service they are known as:- 1005-21-103-5591 MAGAZINE, assembly, cartridge, 30 round, C1 Here's a pic of the 30 round magazines C1/L2A1 on the left the L4A1 on the right (Australian made L4 mag)
