Does anyone have an electronic schematice of the dividers in a Bren Transit Chest - mine is missing the barel support divider...
Also have anyone restored one of these and if so would they care to offer any tips? Can the dividers be removed easily for cleaning and painting the interior for example?
Thanks!
James

We (me, Kev et al) have the factory drawings for the Mk II chest (nice and clear) and the internal parts for the Mk I (General assembly/ outside one was missing) but that ones quite faint and really needs redrawing by some one with the skill to do it. The half plate negatives I scaned it from where pretty rough.
The chests where built to be taken apart for storage the internal parts are just screwed on. I've never disasembled one myself so can't say if they slapped glue on as well.

Yes please!
On that vague note several of the DD(E) I scanned in from the old Pattern Room collection were from half plate negatives where the originol image was so huge they had to split it onto two negatives.
For example DD(E) 1650 for which i only have the G.A. shows the left side of the Mk I Bren and a cut away of it. Typically it has been altered so it shows the Mk 4 butt as more usually seen on the Mk 3 and L4s. It would make a corking picture if it was glued back together.
Others, such as the ones for the Bat spares box could do with redrawing as they are very feint
Including the Motley etc theres about 1066 images of DD(E)sI scanned in before the MoD dumped the lot on the Royal Armouries.

If you need someone to have a go at redrawing some diagrams on autocad and piecing chopped up pictures back together, I wouldn't mind having a go at it. I can't promise I could do very complicated items, but I have done a fair bit of BS8888 standard technical drawing for my university course and I have quite a bit of experience with photoshop and paintshoppro. I'm just coming to the end of my exams period and could do with a meaningful project to occupy my time till the results come back!

Hi Tom:
I'm new to the board, but I'm starting a semi-auto build of a 1944 Inglis MKII. I'd like to get the drawing file for the transit case so that I can build one for my gun.
Thank you very much,
Mike
