A great bit of nostalgia! I hate to say it but I can remember going to see that movie when it first came out (about 1958?) ;D
Another good bit of footage is the Lewis gun scene from Dad's Army. I would like to see that again!

Thanks Andrew! That was not the scene I was thinking of but funny just the same. The scene I had remembered was Jonsey firing off the end of the jetty. You could see the drum going round as he fired!

There is a few videos out there of people who are using torch cut bren kits as a housing for airsoft parts. I'll try to find a link or two. I remember one where a guy gave step by step points how to convert the gun to airsoft. It was in the US though.
The airsoft parts are so small in conjunction to the empty bren reciever its a faily easy conversion apparently.
I dont know of any company making an factory made airsoft bren as of yet.
I know here in canada at least once you weld up a frame and it can take the original internals with little to no work its considered a firearm if its not deactivated.
I wonder what the legalities are if you can fire a projectile through it. Airsoft guns are still available here(for now) even though there replicas of firearms only due to the fact they fire projectiles under 500 feet per second.
I know here if you break the welds on a deact your in for trouble especially if you access the rcvr.
It would be interesting to see what the laws re: this are in Scotland?
