Since most folk have the sense not to collect Besa kit there are few decent referances on the subject outside of the official manuals. This being the case I thought I'd start a thread which will illustrate the nice shiny bits that you can get and provide a few details. Shows the 4 types of burst case extractor proper to the 7.92mm Besa. The MK I is a direct copy of the one for the ZB37 and is very rarely seen (for all I know mine could be a Czech one, theres no markings but it is identical to the DD(E) for the UK one I got from the Pattern Room) The MK II was found to be too long in the handle to be used in some AFVs and so had the folding part removed, at first as a conversion (the tail and bolt was removed and the ensuing gap closed up and the end rounded off) to Mk II* standard and then as a factory made new type, the Mk 3. It is not uncommon to see Mk II*s which have merely had the tail part removed and the retaining bolt either also removed or left in place. If any one is sad enough to want to know more (L o Cs, ACIs Drawings etc) Please give some feed back other wise I will keep it simple like the above. ATB Tom
