LoC C 1029 of 1945 introduced the Tool, cleaning, cylinder bore, Besa 7.92 mm. M.G., Mk.I SM 89 (overall lenght 4.375 inches) The example shown above was very heavily pitted when I got it and even after extensive work looked awful so I have painted the handle part along the lines of other tools I have. LoC C 6631 of 1955 anounced the Tool, cleaning, cylinder bore, Besa 7.92 mm. M.G., Mk. 2 SM 577 and also made the Mk I obsolescent. The Mk. 2 has 8 teeth not 5 as in the Mk. I and has longer cutting edges (5.75" overall) Drawing taken from the 1956 parts list. If anyone should have a Mk. 2 or a better Mk. I they are prepared to part with, please get in touch. ATB Tom
