Now this is a subject I am pretty poor on so far but for the sake of completeness here're a few pics of what I currently have. Please see; home.wanadoo.nl/cartridges/792x57_besa.htmfor more on UK 7.92mm Mauser. I can highly recomend, "The Development in Britain of .30 inch Ammunition, 7.92 Ammunition, 15mm BESA Ammunition, 1939-1993". by Peter Labbett. 1999 from left to right above Besa 15mm drill round, Uk 1945 7.92mm Ball, 2 x 1944 UK 7.92mm Inspectors Mk UII rounds, .303 Mk U5 Inspectors round, 7.62 Nato Inspectors round. Belts: I will go into more detail at a later date but currently I have a Mk I (right), Mk I* (top) and a post war Mk 5. The all metalic belts both take 225 rounds while the 1959 Mk 5 only 200. It hasn't been cut down as the tag is marked "200" They look quite impressive when filled with inerts (This one is filled with mainly Portugese made rounds, about half of which have unstruck primers (oiled I believe, innert certainly) so look rather well. The Mk I* is now filled with 225 WWII Czech made German rounds (Thanks Bill!) just to make you UK Hun gun collectors out there weep ;-(D) Finding liners to hold the belts, since they were basically disposable tinplate items, is proving problematical; I am looking for the various types of box and liner if any knows of where I could find some...
