Nice one Brit - as it happens I have an Iraqi Vickers MG manual (in Arabic) being sent to me this weekend. It was found in 2003 during OIF, apparantly there were som Vickers MGs there as well but what happened to them is unknown.
As it happens, I have some Iraqi marked accessories for the Vickers and would like to get one of the special 'IK' manufactured guns we gave them in the Second World War.
Thanks,
Rich

Most of the intresting weapons we found in Iraq were being returned to the UK. The rest..... went on the bottom of a large pile of UXO for demolition. My team personaly destroyed AK's, SKS's, PK's, Converted blank firing pistols (Dont ask me why they converted blank firers when they had easy access to arms), DHSK's and Mortar's. We did send back a Lee Enfield MkIII back, it was a 1936 BSA model, that had the barrel cut off at the neck of the chamber and a six foot long pipe weilded in its place. The guy used it for shooting duck in the marshes, he would load a blank and then fill shott in the muzzle end.

There was a Lewis gun for sale on the basra market last year along with some M16's that had been picked up after an ambush , there was also a few ww1 and pre 1914 dated webley's, no chance of getting them back though. price of a 1915 webley, $50!!!! without rounds.
