Hi all The only Lewis rod that I have has been sawn off at the front end by some philistine and needs to be repaired so that it can, once again, serve a usefull purpose . Could someone out there please let me have these dimensions (OK in metric or imperial): 1) overall length 2) diameter & width of head & rings 3) depth and diameter of cup (in head) TIA

This is correct, also I think Sarco has Lewis parts in the USA, I got two spare Lewis pistons from them, I think they still have plenty in stock.

Peter: Do you still need this? I'll measure mine if you need it, where are you located? If you're in the US, it would be cheaper and easier to just get one from Omega or Sarco if you need one, rather than make it, but I don't know what the rules would be in the UK?

Ok, I just noted that you're in South Africa, I have no idea if you can get them there or not! I'll try to measure mine.

Sorry guys, I should have closed off this thread last week as I managed to get the dimensions I needed at our War Museum. Thanks anyway for your offers of assistance. Cheers
