.5 belt Question

I have just aquired what I thought was a WWI pattern belt for a .303. however the metal space bars are all the same length and dont have an extra long one every now and then. Also the feed tab is marked .5 100 Rds V.A Ltd. This leads me to beleive it to be a .5 belt though the 303 ammo fits in quite nicely.
Can anyone tell me more or have I discovered enough already?

You are right and if you are interested in selling then I would definitely be interested as I have a .5-inch Vickers, the right ammunition box but no ammunition belt to join the two.
