Peter Laidler would be the only one I can think of who would have had much to do with Mk 1 Stens. I would be very keen to add a live example to my collection. Do you know of any Sec 5 holders who might have one?

The last batch of Mk1's I saw were the ones World Wide Arms were selling a good few years ago. Someone offered me one a few weeks ago, new spec deact for £350. I had a look and wasn't completely convinced it was all original (I may be wrong) Other than that I haven't seen any for ages. Woodsy, any chance of a photo of your Maxim 08 on Sledge Mount?! I'll show you my Maxim if you show me yours!

Peter laidler beleives all mk1's had markings from S.M.C. only and no sub contractors were used. The example offred had the markings S.M on the mag housing but had another ?? Bros. marking on the trigger assy plates (Not lines Bros.) and also had R.F.I. markings too. I was thinking perhaps a mk1 made from mk2 parts. Only a close examination would tell.
