Does anyone have a copy of The Lee Enfield Story that they would be willing to sell? It doesn't have to be new, a good second hand one will do nicely!
Cheers.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Well it's my birthday today and I got up early to open my present (I still have the mental age of a 5 year old) My girlfriend has bought me a copy of The Lee Enfield Story.................signed by Ian!!! I nearly wet myself. (that'll be old age)
Excellent book from what I've read (in 10 minutes!) I didn't know they made 20 round magazines for an SMLE!

Hey Tim, I'd love a No4T, however so would most other collectors and to cut a long story short, I can't afford one! I have just bought a M1928A1 Thompson though. It's one of the guns from Russia, however it's been fitted with the British type sling swivels so I presume it must have been for British issue originally? I remember IMA (and others) used to have 37 Patt Web pouches that buckled on behind the basic pouches which were "D-Day" issue Does anyone have a pair or know what I'm banging on about?!

Hi G be warned those pouches aint what they say they are, they are actually post war Portugese SMG mag pouches, I had a pair until I found out what they were and passed them onto Rog.
Mills made vast amounts of kit for a lot of countries post war (and pre war for that matter), for Portugal, Holland, Italy etc etc amen and theres plenty of unscrupulous buggers out there who will try and flog it off as "rare" WWII stuff, with or without new stamps.
Almost religously UK kit is stamped up with manufacturers mark, year made, broad arrow, inspectors mark and often after the end of 1944 a stores code.

Tom
PS any one have any info on or bits of the 1934(6?) Pattern leather Equipment used by the Indian Army? All I have is the bit in Chappells LMG booklet and a few pics.
