Hi Tom, I wonder if you could help me i have found yet another gun cover,It is made of nylon and marked "COVER MACHINE GUN" "1005-99-136-4352" "RC /I\ 1980" I think it might be a GPMG cover but im not sure,I have also aquired 4 1973 dated GPMG nylon bandoleers,if they are of any use to anyone please let me know ,i think they hold 25 or 30 rounds.

Hi Pongo any chance of a pic? tombear@btopenworld.com
The only parts list for the Jimpy I have is a 1995 one which doesn't list a cover at all for some reason, yet the NSN was still around in 2004 although the info doesn't tell you which gun it is for. Its going to be the L7 or perhaps the L3A4 or most likely in my book the L37A2 version of the jimpy which is the one on the top of AFVs.
Anyone able to confirm this?

Looking at the 1999 version of the GPMG handbook, the only differance to the later type of kit I did a layout of is the lack of L1A1 spares and no spare firing pin for the jimpy itself.
I do have another even later wallet similar to the 2nd one but it is even flimsier and the strap lenght adjustment buckle is a plastic job.
Incidently the wallet is "Roll tools and accessories 7.62-mm MG L1A1 5140-99-962-8894"
PS anyone have a Cleaning tool small arms L3A1 1005-99964-8473 and bits spare, it's dinky!

Heres the last, cheepo, version of the GPMG roll. Contents as the second version I put up less SLR bits unless someone knows different. And a clearer pic of the stamp, ATB Tom Cheers for sorting the pics Kev!
