Mark
The Lock has Imperial German Acceptance marks on so unless there is a difference between MG08 and MG08/15, it fits both.

Mark
I am in the UK but as I said in my original posting, I am looking for Russian Maxim items in exchange.
This I realise could be a problem.

Thanks I understand. In this current collecting climate, exchanges are far better than cash. I am afraid I have no Russian kit, so will have to dream about owning a 08 lock. VMT. Mark

Hi Mark
I have a spare 08 lock for sale/swap @ 20 quid or equivalent plus postage and de-ac costs (if any) etc..
What would be required to de-ac it to UK spec and would it then be OK to get it to you without hassles along the way?
Cheers

Peter
You cannot in theory legaly de-ac any individual pressure loading firearm component in the UK.
This does not seem to stop the odd de-ac Bren barrel turning up, but a lock would be very questionable.

I read your post and it is hard to believe the lock would be a concern to anyone. Do you still have the 08 Maxim lock for sale? I am looking for some of the inside parts and would not need the outside housing if that is a problem for you to sell.
The two small parts I am looking for most are: A Cartridge Detent Spring it is # 21 on the lock assembly in "The Devils Paintbrush" page 336 and A Lower Extractor Stop it is #19 on the lock assembly in Dolfs book.
I would be interested in any of the parts if they are available. I am located in the USA in Wisconsin.
I can send a picture of the parts I am looking for if you wish.

Hello Toms
Hope I can help. No restrictions on parts like that in the USA I believe. Send me pics of the parts you need (peter_wells@mweb.co.za) and I will see if I have spares (not really wanting to strip down a complete lock just for a few small parts).

I'm sure there's no problem importing a lock to the US, and I'd be happy to get another, Peter, if you're willing to sell it?
