hello everybody. I'm new to this forum. I was wondering if anyone knows what sort of condensor and hose arrangement the 1910 maxim used ( the sort currently being sold by Rytonarms.) I'm thinking of getting a deactivated one, and I can't seem to find any information on the internet, about the condensors or hoses used in ww2. would a WW2 Russian Petrol Can be historically accurate as a condensor can ?? Really appreciate any information. Cheers.

Other than on the four gun anti-aircraft mount, there is no evidence to suggest that the Russians ever used Condensor hoses and cans during the Second World War. Finnish examples do appear on e-bay advertised as Russian, but these are very germanic in design and are Finnish manufactured. There is a lot of material on 1910's on this Yahoo Group. groups.yahoo.com/group/M1910Maxim/Unfortunately it is only me and Bob Naess who seem to be able to talk with any depth of knowledge. Most Americans members only seem interested in how convert their deact guns back to semi-automatic. There is a very good Russian langue magazine on the 1910 Maxim which I am yet to find anyone to translate at a sensible price. The last price anyone mentioned was £400.00.

Ryton have early and late production variants.
They also have battlefield damaged examples which have water jacket repairs. I personally like these because you can say that they have definitely seen combat. Other people like perfect examples.
