I am not sure about UK prices (but experience has taught me that if it cost $1 in NZ then it costs 1 Pound in the UK!) but a ZF12 by Busch would sell in NZ for $350 - $450 in good condition. If it was complete with the leather case and spare lens filters then it would $600 - $750. Some other makers are scarcer but Busch is the most common. In any event, they are nice collectors' items!

Hi Woodsy Thank you for your reply, I have had it many years and found it again while looking for something else, I dont collect German Equipment so might look at Parting with it for the right price or trade,
Again Thanks for your help, German equipment is something I know little about.

Hi Gary,
One has just gone on eBay for $227 but it was in the UK. I was bidding up to just below this but it went a little too rich.
I would like one as they were used on the Nepalese Vickers guns, of which I have one, so if you are parting, please let me know.

Hi Mark,
Sorry to say that I actually picked this up from Gary this afternoon (to put on my Nepalese Vickers).
Hope you are keeping well; if you ever come down this way, make sure you give me a shout as it would be good to meet up again.

Chaps,
Having picked this up from Gary, I have a couple of questions:
Firstly, the eyepiece on it is leather rather than solid, what seems to be metal or bakelite, on models I have seen selling on eBay; would this be earlier, later, manufacture variant?
Also, it seems there is a piece missing on the base as it currently has a female slot, whereas the gun also has a female slot; is this because I am trying to fix it to something other than an MG08 or is there really a piece missing? I can certainly knock one together if necessary as a piece of machined-steel would fill it.
Thanks for you help,
Rich

Thanks for the replies; it does seem I am missing the transition piece so I will have one made up from the dimensions I have and the photographs supplied.
Many thanks,
Richard

JMANN and MISSINGSOMETHING are teasing me!!!! Great images and clearly you both know what you are talking about. I am endeavouring to build a German MG display on my barracks. Any communications are most welcome. Would welcome any advice particularly between repro and real. Mark

Mark..... buzz me an email if you have questions and I will help as much as I can email - channelsurfer911@hotmail.com Richard, do you have a picture of the Nepalese bracket. I am curious to see what it looks like. I have a Turkish bracket on mine as it was converted to 8mm before WW2.
