Hi Folks
since Richard is humouring me I'll say a little bit about my collection of Vickers-Berthier kit.
Currently I have 3 deactivated guns, a Model 1925-1926, model 1928-1929 and a bitsa job with various interesting components but is mainly one of the later Vickers made smooth barrelled jobs, not quite a Mk II let us say. I'll inflict pics on you in due course.
Accesories wise I haven't much, 4 monopods, a mag loading guide and several magazines of two types, one interestingly made from factory altered Bren mag components, I have scanned in the following documents , some from my own collection, the rest from the Pattern Room Library. If anyone should want e copies just let me know...
Gale & Polden "The Armourers Handbook Part III Light Machine Guns" circa 1942, covers Mk I and II Bren, VB Mk III, Hotchkiss and .30 and .303 Lewis (word document)
1938 Indian LMG SAT (Vickers Berthier)
Instructions for Armourers 1936 India Part V Vickers-Berthier LMG (incomplete)
Light Machine Gun System Vickers-Berthier Model 1922
SAT Volume I Pamph No. 4 .303 Light Machine Gun (India) 1942
Instructions for Armourers 1936
Provisional commercial Vickers-Berthier Handbook circa 1930-34
Handbook for the Vickers-Berthier Light Machine Gun Model 1923
Handbook for the Vickers-Berthier Light Machine Gun Modele 1924-25 (was in French - Plates Only)
Handbook for the Vickers-Berthier Light Machine Gun Model 1925-26
Handbook for the Vickers-Berthier Light Machine Gun Model 1928-1929
Handbook for the Vickers-Berthier M.11
Some Vickers-Berthier Indian List of Changes entries
Some other odds and sods, I think I may still need to scan in a 1922 handbook, but I digress.
if theres anyone else out there with a interest in the V-B, drop us a line!
