Some years ago, I picked up an L2A1 magazine dated 1959 for not a lot of money, and I've decided to sell a few things and it's on the list of things to go so I can focus more on my WW1 collection. However, I have now idea how rare it is, so I don't want to do anything I'll later regret!
1959 dated, stamped L2A1, numbered 960-0017 outside, MTY9603059 on the round feeder. Also marked with a back-to-back RR (ie the first R is backwards, the second looks like a mirror image), plus the same RR mark, smaller , over 4, and all within a circle.
Outside has a few small dents, but still functions perfectly, retains most of its blackened finish.
Does anyone have any idea as to its value? Rare or common as muck?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew.

Hi, 15 Euros (10 £) for one British L1A1 20 rounds magazine, 25 Euros for two in Belgium (Last Ciney's militaria fair). Different markings. The seller made no difference between them. For L2A1 30 rounds magazines, about 30-40 Euros each.

L2A1 magazines sell here in NZ for about NZ$80 - $120 (40-60 Euros) each, and we had them on issue. They are popular here for use in the L1A1 rifles for Practical shoots, etc.

Woodsy, The magazine Andrew is referring to is the Rolls Razor made L2A1 marked 20 round magazines for the L1A1 rifle, your thinking of the 30 round mags for the L2A1 rifle.
All steel magazines for the L1A1 rifle are the "L2A1" model, it seems that just Rolls Razor (RR) put the model designation on the magazines.
I don't know what they are worth in the UK, but they aren't worth any more then any standard 20 round magazine for L1A1 rifle. What I guess will determine the price will be the condition of the mag it self.
Anyone have any L1A1 magazines with a 1957 date on them? I'm looking for an example or two.
