G'day all.

Just tried posting a picture and much to my amazement ( not being very savvy in the ways of these new fangled computer things ) it worked!

If you check out the post testing thread you'll see my very sad Mk.2. Bren butt-slide.

It has seen better days but was the first one I had come across in years. Will try to straighten it out but I think it's too far gone.

Good one's cost around $1,800.00 Australian now, that's if you can find one.

Anyways thought everyone else might like a cry or laugh at my expense.

Good God! That slide is a mess. Was it crushed on purpose to demil it?

Not to gloat, but I've got a few extra Mk2 slides laying around my gun room that I've no use for. No market for them here in the U.S., really. They're not even worth enough here to bother boxing-up and shipping.

Yes it's in a really bad way and it was crushed in a press, twisted and flame cut with an oxy to demil it. What a waste.

Stupid thing is you can legally own working one's okay and deact one's so why bother making this one such a mess! Could rant and rave about the stupidity of this countries laws for hours but it wont do any good.

I'd love to grab one from overseas as I've seen how cheap they are but they are an illegal import so that ideas out worse luck. What really fry's my brain is the fact that owning them is okay and even working one's are okay with the correct license but it is impossible to import pretty much everything into this crappy place.

A real sorry state of affairs.

Have a good one all and look after your Brens because there are some of us sorry sods out there who can't get one without selling a body organ.
