Bought a supposed "Turkish" anti aircraft leg for the Vickers from Sarco. Already have a Turkish tripod (has the big brass dial on it). The only picture I have seen of the method of attachment of the leg shows it going into the gun cradle but the cradle on my gun has no hole in it for the leg to fit into. www.pieceofhistoryfirearms.com/images/gallery/36.jpgWas the cradle for the Turkish Vickers just a modified cradle or is it actually different? Do I just get the cradle bored to accept the leg? Or can I buy a cradle that has the hole in it? PS the gun is an ERB side plate in 8mm.

Thank you for the great pictures!
The tripod head (gun cradle) we have on our gun is obviously not like the one in your picture. Ours looks like a standard tripod head, it has a small pointer for the degree indicator (which would work on the small brass dial of a normal tripod.
Your picture shows a large pointer bolted to the tripod head extending over the degree markings.
Where do I find a Turkish tripod head?
The rest of our tripod looks correct, the legs/feet match the Turkish model.

Hi, I made those traverse stops for my Turkish Vickers. Based myself on the pictures of Dolf's book. A free interpretation, but it looks real. OK, the colour does'nt match. Regards,
