I just got one of these Lights but it did not have a Lamp in the socket. Does any one know what type it should be or what the Spec's are for it? I have some lamps that do fit the socket but do not know what the original type/voltage was. I also need to find the cord and reel for turning it on/off and a Mk III (?) aiming stake to set it up with. Any ideas? ? Chuckm Carson City Nevada

Well here is the deal..... so far in my wanderings I have not found any battery specs. The original bulbs that I have are 2.5V or 3V marked. Complete set up: Here is what I did: Went to the local electronics store and bought a couple of connectors and some shrink tube as well as a 9V battery connector. I also got some #50 7.5V screw base lamps and voila.... working lamp ;D MK 3 aiming post: I also needed a cord and reel..... seem to be real hard to find.... so I made a replica..... Original Left...... My creation Right..... ;D I had a company in the US make the cord up on a sample I sent to them so I now have enough string for about a thousand reels. The reel is a piece of dowel I had cut in half and the 2 side pieces are smaller dowel. I then used food color to dye them green. How does it look.....

WOW! That is great at least I can get a bulb that will fit. Off to the Parts House when I get to work in the morning.....Would it be possible to talk you out of some of the Twine?? I have found one of the Clips that will work and can make one of the Winders like you did, seems simple. What diameter was the dowel that you started with?? Now to find a Post, Aiming, MK III........................ Thanks again for the info........... Chuck

Dowel is 3/4 inch cut in half and 5 1/2" long and the cross pieces are 1/4" and 4" long. I have to unwind the reel to find out how long it is...... I didn't write it down OK... silly me..... looking in the pam... 30 yards ;D

Thanks for the information, I will get some dowel this weekend and see if I can bash something together. can I ask you for some of the twine? Yep, I had to look up the length also as I would like to try this out.
My Light came off of ebay and was made by "Chadwick-Carroll Brass & Fixtures Limited" in Hamilton, Ontario! Final inspection date is 8/19/41 which pre-dates me by two years!!
I am going to the store in the morning and trying to find some bulbs and batteries.
Have you seen and Aiming posts??
